Subway brings premium-lux fashion to fast food

Updated: Aug 28

'Serving fashion-to-go', fast food company Subway has recently uncovered its sustainable uniforms for its Sandwich Artists with a humorous high-fashion campaign, adding more fuel to the brand's cultural relevancy.

They have revamped the classic 'Sandwich Artist' representation with a look that reflects streetwear and premium-lux fashion collection launches. Following the approach of a high-end fashion brand launch, Subway distorts the lines between fashion and work-wear uniforms, while keeping the theme of sustainability in mind...

Think, Paris Fashion Week, meets Fast Food.

Subway worked on the new uniforms for at least 18 months before launching, and in that time, explored the best way to create a clothing line from recycled plastic.

The final outcome?

A specialised material used for the garments has been woven into a polyester blend that uses recycled plastic bottles.

The uniforms have been rolled out in resturants across Europe, which started with 2,300 chains across the UK and Ireland. Another fast fashion chain moving in the right direction to become more sustainable, kudos to Subway.
